Workshop on Nai-Talim inaugurated at Maulana Azad National Urdu University

Jubilee Hills: The UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is organising a week long faculty development programme "Nai Talim" in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE). The workshop started on Monday and would continue till August 3.

Prof G Ramesh, Member, SRC-NCTE, while speaking as a chief guest in the inaugural, said that Nai-Talim is the concept of Mahatma Gandhi and it focuses on the development of one's head, heart and hand which are inseparable. The main concept is an overall development of a personality – mind, body and soul.

Dr M A Sikandar, Registrar & I/c Director, and Shrivani, a senior faculty of MGNCRE, also spoke. Dr Tahseen Bilgrami, Deputy Director of HRDC, and course coordinator welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks.

Meanwhile, a refresher course in Computer Science & Technology is also being organised by UGC-HRDC, MANUU. Prof DN Reddy, former Vice-Chancellor of JNTU, in his inaugural lecture, emphasised the importance and relevance of technology and highlighted its advantages and disadvantages. The technology can improve the socio-economic condition of any country, he remarked.

Dr M A Sikandar in his presidential remarks said that even though small countries in the world did not have enough resources they do some innovative work. He urged the participants to deliver innovatively for the sake of their students & organisations which will ultimately make their own identity. The course is being attended by 43 participants of Computer Science and Technology teachers from degree colleges/universities of all over India. Dr Pradeep Kumar, head, Department of CS& IT, is the course coordinator. Dr Ishtiyaq Ahmad, Assistant Director, proposed a vote of thanks.
