Yellamma Kalyanam held on grand note
Musheerabad: 'Yellamma Kalyanam' was held on a grand note at Renuka Yellamma temple, Bholakpur, on Tuesday. A large number of locals, kin of temple committee members and others attended the celebrations.
As part of kalyanam celebrations, the deity was adorned with silk clothes and was placed on special pandal built for kalyanam. The Kalyanam was held on a grand note by the Vedic pandits amidst holy chantings.
Speaking on the occasion, temple committee chairman Jerripothula Radhakrishna said that the temple committee has been conducting kalyanam celebrations for the last three years.
Every Tuesday, special prayers are offered to the deity, followed by Annadanam programme. Radhakrishna said that that it is an ancient temple and the temple committee has taken several measures to develop the temple. As part of their efforts to bring back the past glory of the temple, Yellamma Kalaynam is performed by priest Shiva Shankar every year.
