Young poets show verve, wow with verses
Kanchanbagh: Highlighting the aesthetic values of poetry and the making of a poet, the renowned Urdu poet, Sardar Saleem said, "A rhymester having an ability to orate a verse spontaneously, regardless of revisiting the stanza is considered as a genuine poet."
Speaking at the 'Fee-ul-Badeeha Mushaira' organised jointly by Adabgah and Tanzeem-e-Adab at Crescent Model English School, Riyasat Nagar, on Sunday evening, he said "Adabgah has reached to a new milestone in literary world by holding regular training classes for the past two years for the passionate young poets."
The Mushaira started with a verse "Raast goii may hai ruswaii bahut" of celebrated poet Moulana Altaaf Hussain Haali. All the shairs were given forty minutes to compose, rehearse and perform. Consequently, all the young poets rolled out their piece of eloquence and mesmerised the audience.
Earlier, renowned poet Yousuf Ravish, in his address, lauded the yeoman academic and literary services of Adabgah and expressed his gratitude. Sahabzada Mir Viqaruddin Ali Khan Bahadur said "Efforts to impart literary training to young Urdu poets with gusto would create a new generation of creative thinkers and poet Sardar Saleem is steering it quite exceptionally. Also, appreciable are the poets who are pioneering the literary campaign."
Educationist Farooq Tahir suggested the sonneteers to vigorously practice oratory skills as well as improve reading that would indeed provide a lexiconic command over the language the one professed with. Qazi Asad Sanai said the presence of young poets in this literary programme proved that the future of Urdu literature was bright and shiny. Zafar Mohiuddin also spoke and congratulated the audience.
Poets Omer Siddique (Lucknow), Syed Jaffer Hussaini, Sajid Sanjeeda, Riyasat Ali Israar, Ismail Qadeer, Ibrahim Khan Ayaz, Mukarram Faizan, Zaki Hyder, Nouman Asar, Ali Bukhari, Zia Sultany (Jadcharla), Shajar Ali, Siraj Yaqoobi, Mohsin Nawaz, Azhar Latifi, Waheed Pasha Qadri and Syed Yousuf Ravish displayed their skills of poetry.
Noor Ulddin Ameer, Mairaj Jaffery, Mir Fazal (Kolkatta), Advocate Sultan Mahmood and Mir Mubassir Ali notably were among others who were present.
