Yousufguda Metro base sports swanky looks
Yousufguda: The Metro rail line from Yousufguda to Madhura Nagar dons a swanky new look with greenery. Over 200 saplings between each pair of pillars present a pleasant scenario against the backdrop of garbage heaps everywhere. While the median of rail lines is being decorated with paint and colors, the pillars are used for advertisements and promotions.
Metro railway lines have received a fresh coat of paint, exclusive pathway for walkers and colorful illumination. The GHMC took up the job of planting around 10,000 saplings covering 20 pillars in a day.
"We started sapling from ten in the morning and are still continuing. We have finished planting nearly 5000 saplings and will definitely finish the target of planting 10,000 today. It's such a pleasure to be part of social work and very glad to do this for the society" said, Ramaiah, a GHMC worker.
"Best part of city is keeping surroundings neat and clean. It requires efforts of both citizens and GHMC to make the vision a reality. This is part of maintaining cleanliness and presenting city in its glory by adding finishing touches. Today we plant and we are there to look after the plants till they grow. But along with us we want each and every citizen to come forward and support the efforts of GHMC to maintain the beauty of the city.
We request people not to kindly pluck flowers from the plantations under Metro rail base and avoid throwing unidentified garbage amid plants. That itself would be a great cooperation from the public to help cleanliness and greenery thrive across the city," said Anjuanna, another GHMC worker.
"After a very long time, I could see something which is really eye-catching in this Yousufguda area. It's been very long since I ever saw the government doing something in this area. It's surprisingly happy that we are recognised and we got something to boast of in our lanes in terms of greenery. All thanks to Metro Rail and GHMC for making city more beautiful,"said Swapna, a beautitian.
"Good things are happening in Madhura Nagar. Happy to see Metro Rail pillars being decorated and abounding in greenery. I wish bus stops also get decorated after providing shelters or at least a basic shed to stand under. I also wish roads also get attended to, by filling up potholes and re-laying top layers wherever necessary," Kalpana, Principal of MMCC School, opined.
