All development works going on at brisk pace in Khammam: Minister Ajay Kumar

Khammam: All development works are going on at a brisk pace, informed Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. Speaking with the media here on Thursday, he informed that IT and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao is likely to inaugurate the newly constructed road-over-bridge (RoB) at Dhamsalapuram in Khammam in December first week.

KTR will also inaugurate several other newly developed facilities like Khanapuram mini tank bund, new police Commissionerate building, NSP canal walkway and IT Hub along with the RoB, he said.

The Minister further informed that Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashanth Reddy and Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali will attend the inaugurations. NSP canal surroundings beautification works are under progress with an expenditure of Rs 5 crore by Khammam Municipal Corporation. The walk-way works are at final stages and it will help the poorer sections residing in the area.

The inauguration of RoB at Dhamsalapuram fulfils the long pending dream of Khammam residents and the bridge will be named after Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar, Ajay explained. A statue of Jayashankar will be installed at RoB junction while a statue of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao will be installed at Lakaram junction in the city. The new RTC bus stand under construction in Khammam will be ready by the end of this year, he revealed.

The Minister visited the above construction sites and directed the construction agencies and officials to speed up the works. Earlier, Minister Ajay had inaugurated Rythu Vedikas at Ryanka Thanda and Budidampadu in Raghunathapalem mandal in the district.

He felicitated Khammam Market Committee Chairman M Venkata Ramana for bearing the construction expenses of Rythu Vedika at Ryanka Thanda.

SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar, DCC Bank Chairman K Nagabhushanam and District Collector RV Karnan were present.
