Khammam: Parents, students welcome English medium in schools
Khammam: The students and parents have welcomed the State government's decision of introducing English medium in all government schools in the next academic year.
The students expressed happiness and appealed to the government to set up the required infrastructure and appoint special teachers to conduct English medium classes.
A student CH Rahul said, the government has taken a right decision. But it should setup all the facilities in schools and appointed teachers especially in English medium."
Welcoming the government' move, the parents said nowadays the English medium of instruction is needed for bright future of students. At the same time they said, the students having language problems should not learn in English in their foundation.
The parents also urged the government not to ignore the mother tongue Telugu. Both the languages are very important for students in their academic studies.
A parent K Rambabu said the English language is needed for every student from the foundation level. The jobs and even the messages worldwide news are available in English only.
Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TSUTF) district president GV Naga Malleswara informed that nearly 5,000 schools have introduced English medium in the year 2016 by the government. And the government also has been conducting English medium class in success schools in the year 2010 in High Schools. No additional teacher was appointed in those schools so far. He said introducing the English medium in the government schools will improve the strength in the schools.
He said, the government should continue give importance to both the languages. He demanded to appoint special teachers for English medium schools. He said the government should setup new English and Telugu medium schools in every panchayat and appoint special teachers in all schools for fulfilling its dream.
