Digitisation going on at brisk pace: Vice-Chancellor Prof V Muralidhara Sharma

Tirupati: A national-level workshop on digitisation, editing and publishing of manuscripts of Bhagavad Ramanujacharya was held at Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth (RSVP) on Wednesday. Commemorating millennium of Ramanujacharya, RSVP through Ramanujacharya Project, conducted the programme which was being sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi.

In his address to the scholastic gathering, the chief guest Prof V Muralidhara Sharma, Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of Vidyapeetha said digitisation, editing and publishing manuscripts of Bhagavad Ramanujacharya were going at a brisk pace by using technology effectively after the project was launched.

The project is one step ahead to digitise the manuscripts by using the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) so that the printing of the works of Ramanujacharya can be done within the stipulated time, he stated. The programme was started with a welcome note by the Director of Ramanujacharya Project Prof KE Devanathan, former V-C of SV Vedic University.

Elite gathering includes Prof M L Narasimhamurthy, Prof PT G Yatiraja Sampathkunmaracharya, Prof C Raghavan, Dr TSR Narayanan, Dr Mukundan, Dr Srikanth, Dr Jagannathan, Dr KE Venkatanathan, Dr Soumya Narayanan and Dr KTV Raghavan.

The master of ceremony of the entire proceedings of the workshop was done by the co-ordinator of the Ramanujacharya Project Prof Chakravarthy Ranganathan.
