Filing of nomination gathers momentum

Tirupati: The filing of nominations for contesting in the ensuing election gathered momentum in the district on the third day as 20 nomination papers including two for Lok Sabha and 18 for the 14 Assembly seats received on Wednesday.

TDP sitting MP Dr N Sivaprasad filed his nomination for Chittoor Lok Sabha (Reserved) seat while on behalf of YSRCP sitting MP PV Midhun Reddy his mother Swarnalatha filed his nomination papers for contesting Rajampet Parliamentary constituency. Four nominees of YSRCP contesting for Assembly also filed their nomination papers today. They include Biyappu Madhusudhan Reddy (Srikalahasti), K Adimulam (Satyavedu), K Narayana Swamy (GD Nellore) and N Venkata Gowda for Palamaner Assembly seats.

Two BJP leaders PC Eswar Reddy and G Vijayakumar also filed nomination for contesting Palamaner seat, Congress nominee Suresh alias BR Suresh Babu for Kuppam Assembly and Nava Praja Rajyam candidate Ramesh Ganugapenta (Srikalahasti) Assembly seat. The remaining are independents, who filed nominations for Piler, Madanapalle, Tirupati and Nagari Assembly seats, according to official sources.
