Tirupati: Infrastructure development is top priority says Bhumana Karunakar Reddy
Tirupati: MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said that development of infrastructure in the pilgrim city was the top priority. He inaugurated many developmental works and laid foundation stones for a few more at Postal Colony, Lakshmipuram and Narayanapuram here on Monday.
Karunakar Reddy first inaugurated a drainage system which was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.44 crore between Ambedkar Law College and Laksmipuram. He also inaugurated five more roads which were constructed by Municipal Corporation of Tirupati recently at cost of Rs 50 lakh.
Later, the MLA laid foundation stone for four roads at Ward-5 in Postal Colony which would be taken up at a cost of around 50 lakh. In this connection, he said that the YSRCP government was giving top priority for providing civic amenities and hence the MCT had taken up a few more road construction works for the convenience of people.
The MLA said prior to construction of drainage between Lakshmipuram and Narayanapuram, people had been suffering a lot due to sewage problem and now that was done away by the civic body. As part of city's all round development, laying of new roads was taken up by the MCT in all the 50 wards and there was no scarcity of funds.
MCT Commissioner P S Girisha, deputy commissioner Chandramouleswar Reddy, superintending engineer Mohan, executive engineer B Chandrashekar and other officials took part in the programme.
