Kisan Diwas, Rabi Kisan Mela held grandly at KVK

Tirupati: RASS – Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Karakambadi has celebrated 'Rythu Dinotsavam' (Kisan Diwas) and 'Rabi Kisan Mela' in a grand manner at KVK premises, near here on Wednesday. RASS general secretary S Venkatratnam, who was the chief guest, wanted the farmers to adopt soil test based fertilizer application to reduce cost of cultivation and to reap maximum returns. He also said that adoption of farm mechanisation and application of organic manures result in increasing soil fertility there by higher yields.

Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS) Associate Director Dr L Prashanthi lauded KVK services to farmers and advised them to utilise the services of scientists to adopt the latest farm innovations. She also briefed about the management practices to be followed in present rabi crops in the district.

RARS Dept of Farm machinery Head Dr C Ramana in his power point presentation explained the importance of farm mechanisation in agriculture and about different farm implements used in different crops i.e. groundnut, paddy, sugarcane etc.
