Tirupati: Pulse polio to be held on January 17
Tirupati: The Pulse Polio programme for administering oral polio vaccine will be held on January 17 in which 4.93 children of 0-5 years will be vaccinated. Addressing a review meeting on the programme held at SV Medical college auditorium on Saturday, DM&HO Dr M Penchalaiah has said that 2,984 centres will be set up to administer the vaccine along with 98 transit polio centres and 116 mobile centres.
With the cooperation of line departments, all the newborn children to those under 5-years of age are to be given two drops of vaccine and they should be marked on their left hand little finger. District Immunisation Officer Dr C Hanumantha Rao said that planning should be ready at PHC level for pulse polio programme and Covid vaccination and everyone should gear up for these programmes.
Municipal Corporation health officer Dr Sudha Rani said that the vaccination centres should be identified well in advance and they need to be kept clean and neat. Dr Saravana Srinivas, Ramesh Reddy, DEMO Dr A Nirmalamma, Dy DEMO Santhamma and others participated in the programme.
