Tirupati: Rudra Yagam performed with fervour

Veda pandits performing Laksha Bilwarchana at Kapilatheertham temple in Tirupati on Thursday 

Tirupati: As part of month-long Karthika Masa Homa Mahotsavams in the famous shrine of Lord Shiva at Sri Kapilatheertham in Tirupati, Rudra Yagam and Laksha Bilwarchana were performed with religious fervour on Thursday. The Rudra Yagam will last upto December 13 for 11 days. Acharya Pavana Kumara Sharma narrated the importance of Rudra Yagam.

Rudra Japam, Homam, Laghu Purnahuti, Rudra Trisati, Bilwarchana, Nivedana, Visesha Deeparadhana, Harati were rendered. After receiving overwhelming response for Karthika Deepotsavam observed at Tirupati on November 30, TTD has decided to organise the religious event at Visakhapatnam on December 11.

Named as Srivari Karthika Sahasra Deepotsavam will be observed in a big manner, akin to Tirupati event with women devotees taking part in the mass Deepotsavam.

TTD JEO P Basanth Kumar instructed the engineering authorities concerned to visit Vizag for finalising the venue and submit a detailed report in two days. After that, a committee constituted the members from HDPP, Music College, SVBC, Garden wings to inspect the area to make appropriate arrangements for the conduct of Karthika Sahasra Deepotsavam, he said.

As part of Karthika Masa Deeksha, Uma Maheswara Vratam was held in the morning between 8:30am and 9:30am which was telecast live on SVBC. Deputy EO Sri Subramanyam, Superintendent Sri Bhupathi Raju and others were also present.
