150 women trained in tailoring

Vijayawada: Under corporate social responsibility, Reliance Industries Ltd., E&P has initiated many interventions schemes/programmes in Gadimoga and Bhyravapalem panchayat villages since inception. Towards creating lively hood opportunity and facilitating economic empowerment among womenfolk, we had initiated a programme of providing tailoring training to women and empowered the women the community and provided tailoring machines to enable to stand on their feet.

This initiative was highly appreciated and lauded by one and all and is successfully functioning. In total 150 womenfolk from Gadimoga, Bhyravapalem, Pedavalasala and Chinavalasala has been trained and provided sewing machines since 2017. The training programme spanning of 40 days and covering the basics of tailoring, minor repairing techniques of sewing machine, stitching of various clothing items such as blouse, Panjabi top and bottom and children school uniforms. Required material and machines are kept for smooth conduct of the training.

Two expert trainers imparted the training to the women. Towards extending this programme, we have initiated tailoring training programme to Lakshmipathipuram village, Tallarevu mandal on January 24. Total 30 fisher women folk were given training and on Monday in closing ceremony, we have provided sewing machines to 30 women's for establishing their own self-employment ventures. Village elders and women's groups in the village appreciated the Reliance Industries gesture towards women's development.
