Vijayawada: The JAC of the Amaravati Parirakshana Samiti (APS) is organising Jana Rana Bheri near the Rayapudi speed access road in Amaravati on Thursday to mark the completion of one year of agitation for the continuation of Amaravati as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

The JAC conveners A Siva Reddy and Gadde Tirupati Rao addressing the media at the APS office here on Wednesday said that people throughout the State are demanding continuation of the capital city at Amaravati. They said that the APS has been agitating for the last 365 days for the capital city.

There has been a stupendous response from people by and large during the last one-week programmes undertaken by the JAC. A large number of people participated in Maha Pada Yatra organised at Guntur and Vijayawada, they recalled and thanked the media for their unstinted support to the agitation all these days.

The conveners exhorted all sections of people including the associations of farmers, traders and others to participate in large numbers in the Jana Rana Bheri in Amaravati on Thursday and make the government understand its thoughtless idea of three capitals.

Siva Reddy and Tirupati Rao said that the leaders of all political parties and representatives of all associations are participating in the massive public meeting. JAC members Rayapati Sailaja, Rambabu and others were present.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, BJP state president Somu Veerraju, Congress leaders Dr N Tulasi Reddy and Dr S Sailajanath, Jana Sena leader Nadendla Manohar, CPM leader Madhu, CPI leader Ramakrishna and representatives of Aam Aadmi Party, Lok Satta, MIM and others would participate in the Jana Rana Bheri.
