Biodiversity conservation need of hour: Balineni Srinivasa Reddy
Vijayawada: Biodiversity should be conserved for the our bright future, said Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy while addressing the meeting organised by the AP State Biodiversity Board (APSBB) to bring awareness among people regarding the importance of the conservation of the biodiversity here on Saturday. The Minister recalled that the APSBB has prepared a vision plan recently and a three-year perspective action plan including setting up of biodiversity parks in all the 13 districts, setting up biodiversity museums in the three regions.
Dr Nalini Mohan, principal chief conservator of forests, presented a power-point to highlight the importance of conservation of biodiversity. The minister released a wall calendar and a table calendar published by the State Biodiversity Board to inform people about the biodiversity. He also released two short films on biodiversity. Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu also participated in the meeting. Later, addressing the media, the minister came down heavily on the State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar stating that the SEC was going ahead with his own agenda. "The SEC was not heeding to the advice of the State government and the Chief Secretary," he said. Malladi Vishnu said that the SEC was dancing to the tunes of Chandrababu Naidu.
