Devineni Uma house arrested in Gollapudi ahead of Sand Satyagraha protest
Former minister and TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao was house arrested by the police. The police arrived at the former minister's house in Gollapudi early this morning and stopped him from coming out. Due to this, there was an argument between the ranks of TDP and the police and there was an atmosphere of confrontation in Gollapudi. With the house arrest, the former minister protested at his house.
It is known that the TDP has been protesting all over the state for the past two days alleging that the ruling YCP is involved in sand mafia. As part of this, the TDP leaders are ready to continue the protests on Wednesday as well. Today, TDP has called for a siege of the headquarters of the Director of Mining and Geology in Ibrahimpatnam. The TDP leaders felt that the evidence related to the sand looting of the YCP leaders should be handed over to the DMG director. But when the police stopped them, they protested at Devineni Uma's house.
On this occasion Devineni Uma said that sand satyagraha like Mahatma Gandhi's salt satyagraha. He said that Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, did salt satyagraha against the British, today we are doing sand satyagraha.
He said that all the people believed that as soon as YCP came to power, they would bring a new policy for the sale of sand, but failed to do so. Uma accused that the YSRCP leaders were obstructing the mining department and looting the sand.
