Man gets 658 SIM cards on a single photo in Vijayawada, police starts probe
The SIM card scam has come to light late after the Department of Telecommunication has found that a person has acquired as many as 658 SIM cards on a single photo. The Commissioner of Police Rana ordered the Suryapet police to conduct an investigation as per the complaint of DAT (Department of Telecommunications)
A young man named Naveen from Satyanarayanapuram in Vijayawada was found to have registered these SIM cards. Another 150 SIM cards were found to have been issued with fake documents in the jurisdiction of Ajit Singh Nagar and Vissannapet police stations.
The Department of Telecommunication has brought a special system to prevent sim card frauds and identified the scam by using tool kit that works with artificial intelligence.
SIM card frauds are detected through artificial intelligence and facial recognition verification software. The police are investigating where the SIMS were and who are using it.
