Pat for Andhra Pradesh police for extending support to Child Welfare Committees
Vijayawada: Stating that the Child Welfare Committees in Andhra Pradesh are getting good support from the Andhra Pradesh police, the National Child Rights Protection Commission member Dr RG Anand said the police are doing excellent work to eradicate child labour in the State.
Anand along with the State DGP D Gautam Sawang conducted videoconference with the officials of women and child welfare, labour, child welfare committees, NGOs, revenue, medical and health other departments on Tuesday.
The officials of various departments explained how these departments are working to eradicate child labour in the state. He said Andhra Pradesh police stood first in use of modern technology and won 108 national awards. He said that he heard about the Disha act and Disha app but he understood how it is useful in the protection of women.
Earlier, DGP Gautam Sawang explained the efforts being made by the police, other government departments, NGOs and child welfare committees in the state to eradicate the child labour. He requested Anand to extend support to the initiative taken by the state government in protection of the rights of the children. The DGP also explained about the Operation Muskan and how various departments are working in coordination to create awareness among the parents on eradication of child labour.
Additional DGP Ravi Sankar Ayyannar, CID additional DIG Sunil Kumar and other officials participated in the videoconference.
