Returning Officer orders improved facilities in booths
Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner and city Central constituency Returning Officer M Ramarao inspected the polling stations located in the Central constituency. He inspected Ayodhyanagar, Ramakrishnapuram and Devi Nagar polling booths and ordered the officials to facilitate entire infrastructure for the voters in the polling stations. He ordered the officers to provide mobile toilets where the toilets are less in the polling stations.
He personally inspected all polling booths in the three areas and checked the condition of ceiling fans, lighting, ventilation and ramp arrangements. He also checked the toilet facilities, drinking water arrangements and suggested some repairs to be done at a few polling stations.
The Commissioner visited Sarada Elementary School in Ayodhyanagar and noticed that there are a few toilets which are not sufficient to the allotted voters. He ordered the officials to provide mobile toilets and also suggested the officials provide lights and fans in the booth.
Later, he visited Kallepalli Library polling booth and suggested the officials to improve facilities. He also visited the BC Hostel polling booth and expressed his dissatisfaction over the infrastructure facilities. He ordered the officials to arrange fans, lights and drinking water facilities on a war-footing.
After that, the commissioner visited Tammina Durgarao Municipal School near Budameru and recommended for more facilities. VMC health officer Dr Madhusudana Prasad, Deputy Executive Engineer Ganga Raju and others were present.
