Two persons charred to death

Vijayawada: In a ghastly incident, two persons were electrocuted and charred to death between Gollapalli and Ponasanapalli village of Nuzvid mandal on Saturday. According to Nuzvid rural police, two persons Penumaka Jyothybabu and his friend Shaik Mastan of Meerjapuram village died in the mishap.

While travelling on a bike, they came into contact with a container parked on the road. The container was already in live contact with a power line and they were not aware of the impending danger.

They were immediately electrocuted and died on the spot. A container bearing the number from Haryana state was passing on the narrow road between Gollapalli and Ponasanapalli villages and it came into live contact with a electrical wire. Suspecting danger, the driver and cleaner of the container left the vehicle and fled from the area.

The two youth Jyothibabu and Shaik Mastan unaware of the danger touched the container and were charred to the death. The local residents were shocked over the incident and could not come forward to take out the bodies from the accident site.

Police constables Mareswara Rao, Sivannarayana and Krishna have taken out the bodies from the accident site and shifted them to the hospital for postmortem.
