Vijayawada: Education department ready to give promotions to civic teachers

Vijayawada: Municipal Teachers Federation (MTF) state president S Ramakrishna said on Tuesday that the state education department was ready to give promotions to the teachers working in the municipal corporation schools and municipal schools.

He said the MTF representatives attended a meeting convened by the education minister Botcha Satyanarayana at the SSA office in Vijayawada on Tuesday.

He said the minister clearly said that the education department was ready to give promotions to municipal teachers. The two unions representing the municipal teachers also took the issue of medical bills to the notice of the minister and he responded positively to resolve the problem.

Ramakrishna said the education minister hinted that municipal teachers’ transfers would be unlikely in this academic year. He said the government is planning to adjust the surplus teachers of the municipal schools in nearby municipality or any other management.
