Vijayawada: Minister, leaders pay tributes to legendary singer Ghantasala
Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao and others garlanding statue of legendary singer Ghantasala Venkateswararao on his birth anniversary in Vijayawada on Friday
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Creative and Cultural Commission, Department of Language and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh organised 98th birth anniversary celebrations of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao at Government Music and Dance College here on Friday.
The chief guest Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Youth Advancement inaugurated the function by garlanding the statue of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that there is no replacement for the legendary singer and music composer Ghantasala. All his songs are memorable, he added.
Malladi Vishnuvardhana Rao, MLA, Vijayawada (Central) and Chairman, AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation presided over the function and said that Ghatasala Venkateswara Rao was pride of Telugu people and he rendered not only film songs but also many devotional songs including very popular 'Bhagavad Gita'.
District Collector Imtiaz, R Mallikharjuna Rao, CEO, AP State Creative and Cultural Commission and others were also present.
