Vijayawada: In continuation to first successful walking audit session conducted on Wednesday, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation on Thursday organised second Walking Audit orientation session in the Council Hall to orient the design competition participants about the S4P Neighbourhood Typology VAMBAY Colony (Ajit Singh Nagar) walking audit.

U Sarada Devi, Additional Commissioner (Projects), Nodal Officer for Streets for People chaired the walking audit orientation session. She said that as part of Street for People Challenge's walking audit, the city officials, registrants of city-led design competition, the team went for a walk together to Ajit Singh Nagar in the forenoon session to understand what can make VAMBAY Colony and the precincts feel walkable, safe, liveable, and capture the opportunities for development.

Sarada said the second walking audit orientation session was attended by more than 40 members comprising local representatives, students, professionals, registered team representatives, ward secretaries and VMC officials. Seeing the response and active participation, she expressed contentment and requested participants to focus more on the pilot interventions that can be quick, innovative, and easy-to-test economical solutions.
