Vijayawada: The world-renowned toymakers should be ready to export their toys to the countries around the world, said Manoj Lanka, assistant director from the office of the Development Commissioner of Handicraft, New Delhi.

He inaugurated the skill development programme for the toymakers at Kondapalli here on Saturday.

Earlier, the handicrafts artists paid tributes to Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay who established the National Handicrafts Development Board in 1956 in New Delhi by bringing the expert handicraftsmen together.

Rahul Sharma, regional officer of Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts (EPCH), addressing the toymakers advised them to improve their skills as enunciated by the master craftsman during the training in the toy making.

The 25-day training programme for the 30 toymakers both men and women would help them acquire the latest techniques in making toys, exploring the export market and tap it for the export of toys. Handicrafts promotion officer (HPO) Suvarchala, L Siva from EPCH, state government awardees U Suryaprakasa Rao, Nutakki Srinivasa Rao, Sesha Rao, Nagabrahmaachaari, Sk Kaza, Ramana and others also participated.
