Vijayawada: Two-day international poets' meet from tomorrow

Vijayawada: Poets from across the world will descend on the city to participate in Amaravati Poetic Prism 2020, the 6th International Multilingual Poets' Meet on December 19, 20.

The two-day event is being organised by the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) in association with CIIL, AP Department of Language and Culture and Telangana Department of Language and Culture is organising.

Dr D Vizaibhaskar, convener of the programme, informed on Thursday that K. Siva Reddy, member of Kendra Sahitya Akademi, will inaugurate the meet. He would also launch the International Multilingual Poetry Anthology e – book which is edited by Dr Papineni Sivasankar and Vizaibhaskar showcasing 162 poems in 42 languages by 162 poets from 32 countries.

Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO and managing trustee of CCVA, said that the overseas delegates from 31 countries are participating in the meet. India is represented by poets in 20 languages.

Sandeep Mandava, CEO of Malaxmi Properties said that Padma Shri Vishnu Pandya, chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Akademi, Dr N Gopi, Dr D Munirathnam Naidu, R Mallikarjuna Rao, Mamidi Harikrishna, Dr Y Tejaswini will attend the inaugural session as distinguished guests. The Amaravati Poetic Prism 2020 features poetry of some of the top poets of India and the world. The overseas poets too are winners of top poetry prizes and awards for literature.

Deepa Balasubramanian, CEO of The Sedibus said that the Valedictory Session on December 20 will be addressed by Dr Kolakaluri Enoch, Dr Venna Vallabha Rao, IG Killada Satyanarayana and Deepa Subramanian will be the moderator of the two-day international poets meet.
