Vijayawada: With the inspirational life story of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr PV Radhika started 'Trushna' in June 2020 with the main objective of conducting deliberations and learn unique aspects that many were unaware of.

Trushna was formed by the professional community consisting of Dr Indla Ramasubba Reddy, the chief psychiatrist and director of Vimhans, Vijayawada, P Vydehi, secretary, FAPCCI, K Sridhar, deputy head, Department of Computer Science, PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science as the committee members.

Trushna started its first web seminar on Sunday with an interesting topic 'Role of Performing Arts in Education', which was presented by Vidyanithee Vanarase, the founder director of International Association for Performing Arts and Research, Pune and also a reputed theatre personality from Maharashtra.

Vidyanithee opined that education is one of the neglected areas in today's competitive learning environment and if education is added with Performing Arts, it leads to not only inculcation of values but also encourages students to choose their interested field of learning. He also said that a simple story, when it is properly designed in terms of gestures, body language and dialogues will definitely enrich the thinking of children. He continued to say that in this present competitive world, students from primary school to colleges should be encouraged to apply this innovation in any area, which creates positive perspective towards arts and culture.

While discussing about the drama, Vidyanithee said that the conflict between 'agree and disagree' is the basic element of drama and even students become intellectual only if they are in friction so that they will be able to substantiate their arguments.

The session was interesting with interesting queries from intellectual participants from diverse backgrounds. It was an eye-opener to the present system of education. Many of the viewers felt that concerned authorities should think to start such creative learning to make our country to produce experts and intellectuals in all arenas.

The session was efficiently conducted by Dr PV Radhika, the founder of Trushna.
