Good train collides a car struck on track in Visakhapatnam, four escaped unhurt
A fatal accident was narrowly avoided at Maruti Circle in Sheelanagar of Visakhapatnam after a loco pilot of the goods train noticed the car stopping on the tracks and was able to slow down in time.
Although a small part of the car was crushed, all four passengers in the car managed to jump out and survive with minor injuries. It is concerning to hear that the incident involved the family of a retired Navy officer.
According to the details, the incident occurred while the car travelling from Sriharipuram to Visakhapatnam tried to cross the railway track and stick in the middle of the track.
Fortunately, both the loco pilot and the passengers reacted swiftly upon realising the danger. The loco pilot promptly slowed down the train, while the passengers, upon noticing the approaching train, quickly opened the car doors and jumped out in order to save themselves from potential harm.
The Gajuwaka police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter.
