Visakhapatnam: 253 GITAM students get offer letters from Cognizant

Visakhapatnam: US-based IT firm Cognizant selected 253 GITAM Deemed to be University students here on Tuesday during the online campus drive.

The selection process is for the package of Rs 4.5 lakh. This year, Cognizant has introduced the role of GenC for engineering students from selected colleges across India.

The drive focused on niche technologies including Cloud, Big Data, Digital Engineering and Internet of Things (IoT), cyber security, sales force and business modernisation technologies.

Based on excellence in academics, internship, projects, complex problem solving and decision-making ability, students were selected. GITAM career services assistant dean Commander Gurumoorthy Gangadharan informed that strong focus on academics, intense skill development programmes and a sound mentoring system to guide the students during virtual events has resulted in an effective recruitment process, he said.

The selected students will get enrolled into an internship programme and orientation training.

Vice-Chancellor of the institution K Sivaramakrishna, Pro Vice-Chancellor Jayasankar Variyar, Registrar D Gunasekharan appreciated the students for their achievement.
