Visakhapatnam: Farm laws aim to enhance farmers' income says Daggubati Purandeswari
Visakhapatnam: The Central government's aim is to direct farmers towards economic growth and enhance their income, BJP national general secretary Daggubati Purandeswari said here on Friday.
Inaugurating the farmers' awareness programme at Peddipalem village in Anandapuram mandal along with former MP K Haribabu, Purandeswari said the awareness drive was launched to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
She explained that farmers can set their own prices for their crops with the help of the three farm laws introduced recently by the Central government.
The Union government's goal is to double the income of all farmers by 2022, Purandeswari mentioned. She alleged that the Opposition is misleading farmers on the farm laws. "Most of the families in the country are dependent on agriculture. In Punjab, the Congress government is implementing contract farming," she pointed out.
She urged everyone to support agriculture laws that will benefit the farmers. BJP State secretary S Kasiraju, Jana Sena Bheemunipatnam constituency in-charge Panchakarla Sandeep and others participated in the programme.
