Visakhapatnam: 'Margasira Masotsavalu' from December 15 to January 13

Visakhapatnam: Making it clear that entry will not be entertained without booking a slot for darshan or wearing a mask, Executive Officer of Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi (SKML) Devasthanam S Jyothi Madhavi said here on Saturday that 'Margasira Masotsavalu' will be held from December 15 to January 13, 2021.

Speaking to the media, the EO said strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols will be followed. She clarified that there will not be any ticket sale at the temple premises this year due to the pandemic. The EO said Ministers, MPs and MLAs were invited to launch the festivities and measures are in place to control the expected devotees' turnout, especially on Thursday which is known to be an important day for the presiding deity.

Jyothi Madhavi urged the devotees to book required slots in advance at Ambika Bagh Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple and Jagannath Swamy temple in One Town Area. Tickets of Rs 100, 200 and 300 tickets are available for darshan.

The EO explained that due to the Covid-19 protocol, the elderly and children under the age of 10 will not be allowed for darshan. While the VIP darshan will be allowed between 7 am and 9 am., the temple is open for the devotees from 6 am to 9 pm during the festivities.

The EO further mentioned that 'Annadanam' will not be facilitated during the festivities and that 'Prasadam' will be made available in packets.

AEO Puli Rama Rao, engineering officials Ch Ramana, V Rambabu and others took part in the meeting.
