Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority plans to enhance green cover

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) Commissioner P Koteswara Rao directed the officials of the Forest Department to undertake cultivation of different species of plants on both sides of the roads to enhance greenery.

He directed the engineering department officials to complete the pending road works undertaken by the VMRDA.

Further, he instructed the authorities to take steps to speed up the unresolved court cases and file affidavits and counters.

After reviewing with the officials concerned, the Commissioner instructed them to generate revenue and conduct auctions to allocate commercial complexes.

He said tenders were called for the rentals of Harita housing project and an open auditorium at Pedagantyada.

Officials from the planning department explained that 844 unauthorised layouts were identified. Of them, a total of 5,692 applications were received through the Land Regularisation Scheme.

VMRDA Additional Commissioner Manazir Jilani Samoon, among others were present.
