Visakhapatnam: P Usha nominated as chairperson of LCC

Visakhapatnam: Director in-charge of Dr Durgabai Deshmukh Centre for Women's Studies, Andhra University, P Usha is nominated for the post of chairperson of the District Level Complaint Committee (LCC) for a period of three years.

D Prameela Gandhi from the Department of Forests, legal personnel M V Lakshmi, and an NGO representative K Swarna Kumari form a part of the committee.

Project Director, Women and Child Development N Sita Mahalakshmi is the ex-officio member of the committee. Usha said the Centre for Women's Studies is working for the cause of Women Empowerment and the committee will work towards preventing harassment at the workplace and redressing the grievances of the victims.

The Local Complaints Committee was formed based on the instructions of the District Collector to redress the complaints made by women facing harassment at the workplace.
