Vizag-Kirandul special express resumes
Visakhapatnam: Tourists heading to Araku Valley can now travel comfortably in a Vistadome coach as East Coast Railway has decided to resume Visakhapatnam-Kirandul-Visakhapatnam special train service with sleeper class from Saturday.
The most-sought after train service was suspended since March 22 owing to the lockdown and subsequent pandemic situation.
With additional stoppages at Srungavarapugkota, Borraguhalu, Kotpar Road, Dilimili and Kaklur, Visakhapatnam-Kirandul (Train no: 08514) special express will leave Visakhapatnam daily at 6:45 am from Friday to January 20 which will reach Kirandul on the same day at 8:45 pm. In return direction, Kirandul-Visakhapatnam (Train no: 08513) special express will leave Kirandul daily at 6 am with effect from December 19 to January 21 which will reach Visakhapatnam on the same day at 8:20 pm.
Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava appealed to the passengers to strictly follow the safety protocols before undertaking the journey.
Keeping the public demand in view, the stoppages and composition of the special trains has been revised, he added.
Cancellation of trains
Meanwhile, due to safety related modernisation works in Waltair Division, non-interlocking works at Gopalapatnam for commissioning of auto section between Gopalapatnam - Simhachalam North, a pair of trains will be cancelled on Friday said Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Waltair, A K Tripathi. The services cancelled include Rayagada-Visakhapatnam-Rayagada special express (Train no. 08507/08508) and Visakhapatnam-Palasa-Visakhapatnam (Train no 08532/08531) special express in both the directions.
