Experts delve into artificial intelligence
Warangal: A three-day national-level workshop on 'Emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence' sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), ICPS Division, Government of India commenced at the Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science Warangal (KITSW) here on Thursday.
Chief Guest Prof Sriram G Sanjeevi, NIT, Warangal, said that the main objective of this workshop is to provide a sound exploration in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and lucid explorations on applications of AI in various computing domains. The workshop also focuses on research challenges, industry trends and recent cross field applications of AI. Essential latest developments in the technology will bridge the gap between teaching faculty and student learners.
There are emerging fields or technologies, which are to be concentrated by every faculty in the direction of research like AI, Robotics, IoTs, Machine Learning, Internet, Cloud Computing , Big Data, Sensors, Block Chain, he said. He said that KITSW faculty will be given an opportunity to utilise the research centre of the NITW for technically sound research projects for the betterment of society.
Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said that research is integral part of teaching for the benefit of the students to do live project during their graduation. For this academic year (2019-2020), the CSE Department has got Rs 50 Lakh funding and around 16 research projects from agencies like AICTE, DST, etc, he said.
Prof P Niranjan, Convenor and dean R&D, KITSW, B Hanumanthu and B Raghuram, Assistant Professors, and Coordinators of workshop, organising committee members S Nagaraju, Dr V Chandrasekhar Rao, C Srinivas, Dr S Narsimhareddy and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary were among others present.
