Ghusul Khana inaugurated in Warangal

Warangal: For the first time in the State, the district administration has constructed a 'Ghusul Khana-e-Mayyat' with all facilities for washing and shrouding of bodies before they are taken to the burial ground.

The facility which was constructed near Kazipet Dargah in the 36th Division of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) is to augur well for the poor Muslims who don't have adequate space at their homes.

The Ghusul Khana and kabrastan were constructed under the aegis of the GWMC with an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh under Chief Minister Assurance (CMA) scheme.

The man behind the effort was Government Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar, who represents Warangal West Assembly.

Chief Whip Vinay Bhaskar, Telangana Water Resources Development Corporation chairman V Prakash, Kazipet Dargah head Khusroo Pasha and local Corporator Abu Baker were among others at the inauguration of the Ghusul Khana.

Vinay Bhaskar said that the TRS Government was committed for the welfare of the Muslims. "Quite a few landlords do not allow the tenants to perform burial rituals in their residence, which is unfortunate. The Ghusul Khana to address such problems of the needy," he said.
