Healthcare services to get makeover: Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil

Warangal: The healthcare services at the MGM Hospital would be on par with the corporate entities, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said. The Collector, who inspected the hospital on Friday, said that the repair, renovation and other works underway with the Rs 3.50 crore will be able to give a new look to the MGM Hospital besides enhancing the healthcare services. He directed the officials to complete the works such as toilets, colouring of wards and electrification before the end of February.

Referring to the infrastructure and equipment required for the healthcare, Patil told the officials to prepare proposals taking inputs from the departmental heads in the hospital. "Based on immediate requirement, sophisticated healthcare equipment will be procured," the Collector said. He said that payment of bills for the ongoing works would be made only after the approval of the heads of respective departments. He told the officials that any deviation in the quality of works would not be spared.

Further, he directed the officials to keep the hospital surroundings clean. "Divide the hospital into 12 blocks and depute a supervisor and sanitation staff to each of it to look after the hygiene and cleanliness," Patil told the Hospital Superintendent. Patil directed him to take action against the supervisors if they fail in the upkeep of their block. The Collector told the officials to auction to get rid of scrap lying on the hospital premises.

Special Collector Manu Chowdary, MGM Hospital Superintendent Dr B Srinivas Rao, Kakatiya Medical College Principal Dr S Sandhya, Telangana State Medical Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC) In-charge executive engineer Ch Hussain and deputy EE Rajender were among others present.
