National Institute of Technology, Warangal to fete noted artistes
Warangal: In its bid to groom and encourage artistes, the students of National Institute of Technology, Warangal, (NITW), who celebrate SpringSpree, the annual cultural fest, every year have come up with the idea of making it even more special this year, which also coincides Diamond Jubilee of the institute.
As part of 'Kala Kshetra', the theme of the SpringSpree'19, the NITW to honour six distinguished personalities who excelled in their chosen field belonging to the region. Disclosing this to media persons here on Wednesday, the NIT Director Prof NV Ramana Rao said that the three-day fest that begins on March 15 offers a platform to the students to showcase their talents at various events. The Kala Kshetra is a platform that provides an opportunity for the students to demonstrate their skills in 64 art forms.
Student affairs dean Prof L Ramgopal Reddy said students across the country would take part in the fest which also hosts event such as Spotlight, Choreo Night, Idol, Allure, War of DJs, Director's Cut, GameDome, Nukkad Natak, Literosphere and Proshows.
Bollywood singer Nakash Aziz and music director SS Thaman would grace the festival. During the fest, the NITW would felicitate artists – micro sculptor Mattewada Ajay Kumar of Warangal, artistic weaver from Sircilla Hari Prasad, sculptor Marri Gopal Reddy of Warangal, actor, director BM Reddy, P Vijaya Kishore and M Srinivasa Chary.
