Warangal: Chief Whip launches 'Chettu-Chekku'
Warangal: The Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) is of immense help to the poor, Government Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar said. Distributing cheques to the beneficiaries under CMRF at his camp office here on Sunday, the Chief Whip said that the government is committed to extend healthcare to the needy. "So far, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who always stood by the poor, has provided financial assistance to lakhs of people, who were suffering from health issues," Vinay said.
The Chief Whip also presented a sapling to each beneficiary along with the relief cheque. Terming it as 'Chettu-Chekku' programme, he said that the initiative to encourage plantation drive would gain recognition among the people as it was aimed at environmental conservation. "All the CMRF beneficiaries, henceforth, would be given a sapling and advised to raise it with care as a memento," Vinay said.
On the occasion, he gave away cheques worth around Rs 22 lakh to 14 beneficiaries belonging to the Warangal West Constituency. Aruna and Shiva, who are being treated at NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad, were among them, who received a letter of credit (LOC) for Rs 6 lakh. Corporators Vemula Srinivas, Nalla Swaroop Rani, Mididoddi Swapna and Abu Bakar were among others present.
In another programme, Chief Whip Vinay Bhaskar donated an ambulance as part of MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao's initiative – 'Gift a Smile'. He inaugurated the ambulance service at Government Maternity Hospital, along with Warangal Urban District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu and DM&HO Dr K Lalitha Devi. Incidentally, Sunday was Vinay Bhaskar's birthday.
It may be recalled here that Gift a Smile initiative is the brainchild of KTR who wanted his party cadre and followers to do something that will bring a smile on the face of a common man rather than wasting money on celebrations.
