Warangal: CPI stands for the poor

Warangal: Communism is the only answer to eradicate corruption in the country, said the CPI State Secretariat member Thakkallapally Srinivas Rao. Hoisting the CPI flag on the occasion of its 95th foundation day, here, on Saturday, he said that since its inception, their party has been working relentlessly for the welfare of distressed and oppressed sections.

"Communism advocates universal social welfare and it's possible only with the Communists," Rao said. Communists fought gallantly for the nation since the times of British rule. This apart, the role of Communists is significant in the Telangana Sayuda Poratam, he added and asserted that their party has always stood by the distressed sections and led several agitations to uphold the rights of the poor.

Expressing hope that Communists have a big role to play in the nation's development in the coming days, he appealed the people to realise the sacrifices made by their comrades. CPI Warangal secretary Mekala Ravi, joint secretary K Bikshapathy and city secretary Sheikh Bashamiya were among others present. Earlier, the CPI workers took out a huge rally with a 95-meter flag symbolising the 95th formation day.
