Warangal: Experts dwell on technology
Warangal: Research enhances teachers' proficiency in the curriculum and keeps them up to date in regard with the newest developments, Prof V Jagadeesh Kumar, IIT Madras. He attended as the chief guest at the AICTE-sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP) organised by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science Warangal (KITSW) here on Monday.
The two-week FDP is to focus on 'Hands on project-based approach for biomedical signal analysis using MATLAB'. Delivering a keynote address on 'Analytical modelling and its application for non-invasive measurements', he highlighted the importance of integrating research into teaching.
He said that the FDP will provide an opportunity to highlight recent trends and developments in the field of biomedical signal processing. It will further give impetus on bringing out newer and efficient techniques, he added.
Rajya Sabha member Capt V Laxmikantha Rao, who is also the Secretary & Correspondent of KITSW, highlighted the importance of journals, projects and innovations to be taken up by the students.
Principal & Co-ordinator of the FDP Prof K Ashoka Reddy highlighted the significance of mini and major projects at UG level. He told the participants to make use of this FDP to produce good projects at UG, PG and research levels. Dr B Rama Devi, J Sheshgiri Babu, P Yugander, Prof G Raghotham Reddy and PRO Dr. D Prabhakara Chary were among others present.
