Warangal: GPs are on growth path, says Errabelli Dayakar Rao

Warangal: Never before has the region witnessed such a fast-paced development, said Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao, inaugurating the Rythu Vedika and Palle Prakruthi Vanam at Katrapally village under Raiparthy mandal in Warangal Rural district on Wednesday. "The credit goes to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who is hellbent on developing the rural areas. No other CM in the past had worked for the all-round development of the gram panchayats (GPs)," he said.

The Minister informed that the State was allocating funds to GPs on par with the Central government. In all, the State had been releasing Rs 339 crore every month for the development activities in GPs, he said, stating that Telangana is well ahead of all other States in the country. "No other State in the country was implementing welfare and development programmes as much as the Telangana government was carrying out for the well-being of the farmers," Errabelli said, referring to the Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, free 24-hour power supply, irrigation facilities, crop loan waiver, etc. The State was alone spending Rs 10,000 crore to ensure free power supply to farmers.

On the other hand, the Centre was looking to break the back of the agriculture sector by bringing anti-farmer legislations. The Centre was also looking to dilute the free power supply scheme by metering the pump sets, the Minister said adding that it's high time that the farmers need to observe the developments taking place in the country.
