Warangal: Retired inspector, wife die in mishap

Warangal: A retired inspector of police and his wife were killed in a road accident near Penchikalpet under Elkathurthy mandal in Warangal Urban district in the early hours of Sunday. The couple was identified as Ch Vijay Kumar and his wife Sunitha of Adilabad. Vijay was heading to Yapalagadda in Adilabad district along with his wife and daughter Mounika from Khammam after he came to know his mother Ramanamma's death.

The mishap occurred when the hired car in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry at around 3.30 am. While Vijay and his wife suffered instantaneous death, their daughter and car driver Harshavardhan sustained grievous injuries in the mishap. The injured were shifted to the government hospital in Huzurabad and later to Khammam, it's learnt.
