Warangal: Small Gram Panchayats told to get Swachh autos
Warangal: It's mandatory for all the small Gram Panchayats (GPs) to fetch Swachh Auto-rickshaws, the Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said.
Reviewing the progress of works launched in the Palle Pragathi, aimed at improving greenery, cleanliness and basic infrastructure in villages, here on Thursday, he told the District Panchayat Officer MA Mahmoodi to send the quotations to Sarpanches so that they could decide on model according to their needs and availability of funds with them.
He told the officials to assist the make Sarpanches in getting bank loan for the purchase of Swachh autos. The Collector said that an action will be taken against the officials if they fail to ensure Swachh autos for all the GPs before February 10. It may be noted here that 97 of the 130 GPs in Urban District have already procured tractors and tankers.
Stating that a dumping yard is must for each GP, the Collector told the officials to clear the hurdles in procuring land for them. The officials were also told to complete the work on Vaikuntadhamams (graveyards) according to schedule. "The responsibility is on MPOs and Panchayat Secretaries to raise the saplings in nurseries," Patil said, referring to the plantation targets set under the Haritha Haram. The MPOs were also told to achieve the target of constructing soak pits.
District Panchayat Officer MA Mahmoodi, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prasoona Rani and District Rural Development Officer (DRDO) T Ramu were among others present.
