Singer Geeta Mali died in a road accident on Mumbai-Agra highway

Mumbai: In a tragic incident, a popular Marathi playback singer Geeta Mali died in a road accident in Maharastra. According to the police, the accident happened on the Mumbai-Agra highway in the early hours on Friday.

Recently, she returned from the US and was heading for her hometown Nashik. The speeding car collided with the gas tanker parked along the roadside. In the collision, Geeta and her husband sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Shahpur Rural hospital. Where she died while receiving treatment and her Vijay is said to be in critical condition.

Before the accident, the singer has posted a selfie on her Facebook account after arriving at Mumbai airport. Besides singing for Marathi films, Geeta had also produced music albums.
