Oil tanker collided with Bus in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: In a tragic incident, at least eight people killed and 24 others sustained severe injuries when an oil tanker collided with Gujarat state transport bus and a jeep at national highway 56 near Pokhran village in Tapi district of Gujarat.

At the time of the accident, the tanker was moving on the wrong direction and collided strongly with the bus. In order to avoid the collision, the bus driver applied sudden breaks, at the same time a jeep coming from behind crashed into the vehicle and pushed it front and hits the lorry.

In the crash, a total of eight members lost their lives on the spot. On receiving the information, the police reached the accident site and rushed the injured to a local hospital for treatment.

On the incident, the police registered a case and initiated the investigation. It's reported that tanker coming on the wrong side is the main reason for the accident. According to sources, the oil tanker was going from Songadh to Surat while the bus, coming from Kushalgarh, was travelling to Ukai.
