Gold, silver articles worth `73 lakh seized

Vijayawada: Task Force team personnel arrested three persons and seized gold, silver articles and cash which were being transported illegally by the traders in one town on Tuesday. The police seized 1.77 kgs of gold articles worth Rs.57.17 lakh, 40 kgs of silver articles valued at Rs.16 lakh and cash of Rs.15,12,860 from a transport company.

The police raided the Marudhar Parcel Service located on Matham Street in One Town and noticed the gold, silver articles and cash being illegally transported by the traders. The Task Force team has arrested Deval Narayan Singh, Paramar Pradeep Singh and Yoginath Swamy who belong to One Town in Vijayawada.

The accused were transporting the gold, silver articles and cash without proper bills to the traders in different parts of AP. The Commissioner of Police Dwaraka Tirumala Rao told the media that the accused were transporting the gold and silver articles without the bills. He said the parcel office is run by Narayana Singh. Task Force team led by ADCP K V Srinivasa Rao raided the parcel office and seized the gold and silver articles.
