Hyderabad: Cyber stalker arrested for harassing girl

Hyderabad: The cybercrime sleuths of Rachakonda police on Saturday arrested one Kola Harish (26) a resident of Uppal, for allegedly harassing a girl. According to police, the accused is a native of Karimnagar and was working as a private employee in Uppal. In the year of 2017, Harish was a lecturer at an engineering college in Ghatkesar where the victim girl was a student. Utilizing his position as lecturer, the accused befriended the victim and started chatting with her.

The accused proposed the girl to marry him after few days, but she refused to accept his proposal and avoided taking any further calls from him. Unable to bear the rejection the accused morphed the photos of the girl and circulated on social media. The girl then lodged a complaint with us, said ACP, S. Harinath. "Acting on a complaint lodged by the girl, we formed special teams and finally were able to trace him to Karimnagar. He was arrested from his residence under sections 354D, 509 of IPC and section 66, 66C and 67 of IT act and will be remanded to judicial custody," said the ACP.
