Hyderabad: Shaikpet Tahsildar arrested on bribe charges
Hyderabad: The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) had detained the Tahsildar Sujatha of Shaikpet two days ago in connection with a bribery case. The officials of ACB has formally arrested the Tahsildar on Monday after completing all the required formalities and she will be produced before the special judge for ACB Cases.
The Tahsildar demanded a bribe amount of Rs 30 lakh from one Syed Abdul Khalid, who wanted his land to be surveyed at Banjara Hills. As the person did not heed to her request she filed a police complaint at Banjara Hills PS alleging that the said person was trying to encroach the land.
Khalid then approached the high court of Telangana and availed a stay order. However, the Sub Inspector of Banjara Hills, A Ravinder colluded with the Tahsildar and Revenue Inspector of Shaikpet Nagarjuna Reddy and demanded a bribe amount of Rs 3 lakhs from Khalid to strike off the cases booked against him.
The ACB officials arrested the RI and SI on June 6 while the Tahsildar was only detained pertaining to further enquiry. However as the enquiry was completed a formal arrest was made on Monday
