Man held for attacking his fiance with blade in Odisha

In a freak incident, a man has allegedly attacked his fiance with a blade at Chintalaguda village near Pottangi in Koraput district of Odisha on Thursday.

Going into details, Sushmita of Chintalaguda village got engaged with Vishwanath, a resident of Sambai village on last year. The wedding was supposed to take place in April this year.

After the engagement, Vishwanath uses to visit the future in-law's house frequently. As usual, he came to Sushmita's home on Thursday and stayed back that night in their house.

As everyone slept, Vishwanath tried to slit Sushmita's throat with a blade. With this, she waked up and cried out in fear. Immediately, the family members noticed her and rushed to the hospital. Later, they approached the police station and lodged a complaint against Vishwanath. On receiving the information, the police registered a case and took the accused into their custody and investigating further.
