Man held for raping girl on pretext of marriage in Rajasthan

Udaipur: In a gruesome incident, a man has been arrested for repeatedly raping a young girl on the pretext of marriage in Rajasthan.

According to the sources, Mataram Purohit of Rishabhdev town in Udaipur district ran a mobile shop and had an eye on a woman who was known to his friend. Slowly he made friendship with her which later developed into a love affair.

On March 23rd of this year, Purohit took the woman to the lonely place and pressured her to fulfil his desire. As the girl refused, he dropped her back at home.

After a few days, he said that it's going to take some more time to get us married and in the meantime to strengthen their relationship he proposed to get physical. Believing his words, the woman surrendered herself. Whenever possible, he uses to take her to the friend's room and continued the sexual assault on her. Then after, he started to ignore the girl.

Over this, when the victim questioned him, she was shocked to hear that he has no more interest in her. Later, she immediately lodged a complaint with the police station. On receiving the information, the police registered a case against the accused and took him into their custody.
